A wellness coach is someone who helps you develop yourself intentionally.

Contrast this with a therapist, who will help you with past issues and unresolved trauma. Therapy is also diagnostic, whereas having a wellness coach (or life coach) is focused on optimizing your health and wellbeing so you grow into the woman you want to be.

Moms in particular benefit from wellness coaching because they can get help with the everyday challenges of motherhood. For example, if you struggle with yelling at your kids or feeling overwhelmed, having a wellness coach can help you solve these challenges, so your life doesn’t feel so overwhelming and so you’re not snapping at your family.

If left unattended, the everyday struggles of motherhood can take a toll on your overall health.

With wellness coaching, you can take better care of yourself, which in turn allows you to take better care of your family.

Wellness Coach For Moms

Wellness coaching can help moms improve their overall mental and emotional health in many ways.

Below is a list of five of the most significant ways having a wellness coach can help you as a mom.

1. Wellness coaching provides a space to be seen.

One of our deepest desires as a human is to be seen.

It means the other person gets you. They hear you. They love you. They know you.

You can be vulnerable with them. Your guard is down.

This is what you get with a wellness coach (a good one, anyway).

When you have a wellness coach, you have a space to go where your wellbeing is protected.

2. Having a wellness coach helps you become a more mindful mom.

When you have a wellness coach, you have a dedicated space for “me time.”

You can use this time (whether it’s in the coaching session or something else) to focus on what you need to take care of you.

Think of a phone. Your phone needs to be recharged every night in order to be useful the next day.

The same is true for you.

You need to be recharged every day.

Yet, most of the moms I coach have no idea what that even looks like. They don’t know what they need because they haven’t given themselves the space to take care of themselves.

When you have a wellness coach, you create space to recharge yourself, so you can become a more mindful, present mom.

3. A wellness coach helps you overcome daily challenges.

When you find yourself snapping at your husband, yelling at your kids, or just a bit overwhelmed from the daily challenges, having a wellness coach can help you.

You’ll learn how to recenter yourself, so you’re not in such a negative headspace.

4. A wellness coach helps you manage mom guilt.

Mom guilt has become a universal language among moms, and a way to connect with other moms.

Yet, it feels terrible to experience mom guilt and can become toxic.

Having a wellness coach can help you increase your awareness around what mom guilt really is and how you can stop making this the main language in which you connect with other moms.

When you drop the mom guilt you’ll start to feel proud of how you show up as a mom.

5. A wellness coach helps you prioritize and take care of you so you can take better care of your family.

Moms live under the limiting belief that we have to “do everything for everyone always.”

And yet, this is an impossible task.

With a wellness coach, you’ll see how important it is to take care of yourself so that you, in turn, take such better care of your family.

As the saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup.

A Final Note

Mom life can feel overwhelming on default. It’s the sense that you need to do everything for everyone always. And yet, when you live this way, you can’t take care of yourself. You’ll feel drained and exhausted.

This is where having a wellness coach comes in. She can help you prioritize yourself in a way that’s genuine as well as practical given the demands of your life.
